USC's student senate passed recommendations to paint a mural in the Darla Moore School of Business tunnel, start a relationship with Coursicle for students to use and expand Student Advocacy's definition of immediate family for excused absences.
Some of the top student organizations are adjusting to the new funding model put in place earlier this school year. Some like the change but say that funds are more competitive to get, while others say it's too early to see effects.
USC's student senate recommended reducing parking permit overselling and the creation of a Garnet Gate mobile app. Senate also passed recommendations for multilingual options for campus resources and to add recycling bins to East Quad and South Quad.
USC's student senate recommended expansions to game day wellness resources, as well as enrolling the school into the "Campus Race to Zero Waste" challenge. Senate also passed recommendations to add wall clocks to classrooms and establish departmental drop-in tutoring centers.

USC's student senate passed legislation to request that USCPD and the Columbia Police Department routinely monitor Blossom and Assembly Street, encourage senate representation on the USC Master Mobility Plan and recommend inclusion of routine doctor's appointments and the loss of a pet as excused absences. Senate also passed a recommendation employing the assistance of Dr. Michael Goodman to help revise and edit Student Government codes.
The 117th student senate passed recommendations to create and expand an esports program on campus, urge the city of Columbia to implement a sidewalk along 411 Huger St. and expand Jewish food options on campus. Senate also passed legislation related to Student Government operations and codes.
The Court of Impeachment has recommended the conviction of a senator and has dismissed all articles of impeachment for Student Government executive members and 34 other senators.
The speaker pro tempore and a senator have resigned from USC's student senate. Three pieces of legislation were also passed during student senate on Aug. 27.
