The Daily Gamecock

From cow to ball

From birth, a cow can go on to do many things.

It can graze lazily in a field throughout its lifetime, yielding milk to a dairy farmer in the early morning hours. It can end up as a hamburger, steak or other beef product to feed people at high-end steakhouses or cheap fast-food restaurants.

Or it can appear in an ESPN highlight, its hide in the form of a football floating through the air and into Bruce Ellington’s hands in the back of the end zone.

This is not the story of the dairy cow or the cow destined for the kitchen of some restaurant. Instead, this story is of the journey from cow to football.
