The South Carolina men's basketball team continued its undefeated start to the 2023-24 season with a record-setting display in a win over the George Washington Revolutionaries. The Gamecocks used a pair of 20 point performances and a program record for 3-point shooting to cement its best start since 2016.
The Gamecock football team defeated the Commodores 47-6 in a season-best performance from its defensive unit. South Carolina's defense ended the game with 66 total tackles, eight pass deflections, three tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries.
South Carolina's women's basketball team welcomes three new freshman recruits after losing much of its production in the offseason. Head coach Dawn Staley said the Gamecocks are already limited, so the freshmen may be called upon early and often.
After a slow start to the season, Mario Anderson has adjusted to playing at the Division I level and developed into a threat for the South Carolina football team's run game. Even though he's seen the field more, Anderson said he's still focused on improving his game.
