Jadeveon Clowney clocked driving 110 mph Saturday

Defensive end pulled over in 70 mph zone

Jadeveon Clowney was pulled over Saturday for driving 110 mph in a 70 mph zone about 25 miles north of Columbia.

The star South Carolina defensive end was driving on Interstate 77 in Fairfield County, Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones said.

Clowney was allowed to drive away but was given a ticket for $355 and six points against his license. In South Carolina, a license is suspended if a driver gets 12 points.

Athletics spokesman Steve Fink didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Clowney, who is expected to forgo his senior year to enter the NFL draft, was named to The Associated Press’s All-Southeastern Conference first team Monday.
