Mary Poppins

When: July 17 through August 2

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Town Theatre, 1012 Sumter Street

Cost: Adults $25, Seniors $20, Youth $15

On July 17th, Town Theatre will open its doors to the first night of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins. The musical is based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney Film we all grew up singing along to.

Summer Concert Series in Finlay Park

When: July 18

Time: 8 to 10 p.m.

Where: Finlay Park, 930 Laurel Street

Cost: Free

Relax and enjoy music in Finlay Park with the Summer Concert Series. Each weekend, different bands play from June to August. On July 18, Glenn Jones will perform. This concert and all following shows are free and open to the public. You're welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs. No pets allowed. Vendors will be available. Repticon Columbia Returns!

When: July 18 and 19

Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Where: Jamil Temple, 206 Jamil Rd.

Cost: Adults $10, Children $5, Under 4 years free

Repticon Columbia is a reptile event featuring vendors offering reptile pets, supplies, feeders, cages and merchandise as well as live animal seminars and frequent free raffles for prizes!

Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival

When: July 18

Time: 4 to 9 p.m.

Where: City Roots Urban Farm, 1005 Airport Blvd.

Cost: $12

The Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival, presented by Sustainable Midlands, is a celebration of locally grown food. They praise the people who grew it, the stores and restaurants that use it, the markets who sell it and also the people who eat it. The festival includes free heirloom tomato tasting and live music on two stages. This is your chance to try local food, craft beer, go tomato bobbing and watch the Tasty Tomato Contest.
