Reports have begun to circulate that a female student was found dead in an apartment at the Hub on Thursday. Police have yet to comment on the reports.
One witness told The Daily Gamecock that police were on scene and questioning multiple persons outside an apartment. A stretcher was also outside the same apartment, according to the same witness.
UPDATE: The State newspaper is reporting a 19-year-old USC student was found dead in an apartment at The Hub Thursday afternoon. According to their report, the incident is being investigated as suspicious by Richland County officials.
UPDATE: Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the student as Rachel R. Bandman, of Glen Allen, Va., The State reported. No signs of foul play or trauma were found in an autopsy conducted Friday morning. Cause of death is pending until toxicology reports are complete.
