USC's student senate recommended increasing the standard university minimum wage and adding healthier vending machines on campus. They also passed two bills in order to adjust student organization funding requests for conferences and make the elections commissions and codes more fair.
The United Campus Workers of South Carolina is one branch of a larger union across the Southeast. Its goal is to raise awareness for all employees on USC’s campus.
As the federal shutdown continues, USC organizations Gamecock CommUnity Shop and FoodShare South Carolina have stepped up to provide resources for students and Columbia residents in need of food.
Some of the top student organizations are adjusting to the new funding model put in place earlier this school year. Some like the change but say that funds are more competitive to get, while others say it's too early to see effects.
