Frank Martin adds power forward to 2017 class

Mali native Ibrahim Doumbia announced his commitment to the Gamecocks on Thursday. After an impressive junior season where he averaged 19 points and 13.5 rebounds, he added offers from Florida, Baylor, Tennessee, UTEP, UCF and South Carolina.

Ultimately, the decision was between the Gators and Gamecocks. He scheduled official visits to both schools, but ended up deciding to only visit South Carolina. This has to be seen as a huge win for Frank Martin, as he went into Florida and stole one of the Gators' top targets.

Doumbia, who plays his high school ball in Miami, stands at an imposing 6-8, but only weighs 190 pounds, which is on the lighter side for a frontcourt player in the SEC.

Doumbia joins center Jason Cudd as the second commitment of the Gamecocks 2017 class.
