South Carolina's women’s tennis team secured two titles in Charlottesville, Virginia, this weekend while competing in the UVA Invitational.

Second-year Paige Cline was arguably the star of the weekend. Not only was she able to capture the title in her singles bracket, she also teamed up with third-year Hadley Berg to win a doubles title.

Berg and Cline won their doubles title on the final day by defeating the hometown Cavaliers duo of Chloe Gullickson and Cassie Mercer by a score of 8-5.

Later in the day, Cline captured her singles title in a match against Old Dominion’s Holly Hutchinson. The match was highly contested, but Cline was about to win in three sets. She won the first set 6-2 but then dropped the second set 4-6. Then the third set was a hard-fought 7-6 victory to secure the win and the title.

Berg and Silvia Chinellato also made it to the finals in their respective brackets, but both of them lost in two sets to UVA’s Rosie Johnson and Tedora Radosavljevic, respectively.

The Gamecocks also secured a title in the doubles consultation bracket when sophomore Hannah Templeton and junior Alison Mills defeated Maddie Silver and Nikola Novackova of Marshall 6-2.
