Parts of Midlands in code red air quality alert

Air quality reached a code red alert today for parts of the Midlands as the haze and smoke from wildfires in the mountains create unhealthy breathing conditions, The State reports. According to the National Weather Service, this code red air quality alert means those with respiratory illness should avoid exertion and try to stay indoors.

Local Bi-Los being converted

As a part of a major re-brand throughout the Southeast, three Bi-Lo grocery stores in Columbia will be converted to a discount brand store called Harveys, The State reports. According to Southeastern Grocers CEO, consumers should expected to see lower prices, better value and a new assortment.

Man arrested for DUI in Rock Hill after spraying Axe in his mouth

A man sprayed AXE body spray in his mouth when he was pulled over by cops in Rock Hill for swerving, WIS reports. Patrick David Butler, 45, was charged and arrested for driving under the influence Monday and told officers he was spraying himself from "head to toe."  Butler blew a 0.13 in a breathalyzer and admitted to returning from Columbia that night where he had been drinking.
