Sindarius Thornwell's suspension lifted

South Carolina men’s basketball coach Frank Martin announced Monday that senior guard Sindarius Thornwell has had his suspension lifted and that he will be free to play against Georgia on Wednesday.

“Sindarius has taken full responsibility for his mistake that led to his suspension,” Martin said. “He has worked hard over the course of the last few weeks and has done everything we’ve asked of him to make his way back to the court.”

Thornwell has been suspended for the team's last six games due to an arrest in May for driving with a suspended license and for the possession of marijuana. South Carolina went 3-3 in the time that Thornwell was suspended.

Through seven games, Thornwell averaged a team high 18.7 points, while also averaging 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

The Gamecocks take on Georgia at 7 pm on Wednesday to open up SEC play.
