The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli set to be featured on Food Network's 'Ginormous Food'

The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, a locally owned and operated shop on Devine Street, has found itself in a spot that co-owner and USC student Richard Kreush called a “lucky coincidence.”

CRD, having only been opened for seven months, has found itself in the spotlight for an upcoming episode of Food Network’s “Ginormous Foods” with its 12-pound CinniMonster.

Mastermind and co-owner of CRD with her son Jody Kreush has personalized and perfected all the items on the menu. Richard, her son and a hospitality, restaurant and tourism management student at USC, said his mother “is the idea, I’m just the execution.”

Based on the sole fact that they thought they could make a bigger cinnamon roll, CDR recently created a 12-pound roll that landed them a spot on a popular Food Network show, "Ginormous Food," that will air all over the nation.

Food Network will be filming the episode early in the morning on March 4. The first 100 customers who wait in line at CRD starting at 7 a.m. will receive a free cinnamon roll. The air date for the episode has yet to be announced.

You can preview the CinniMonster before March 4 if you stop by on Feb. 23. If you want to buy yourself one, CRD just needs a few days advance notice and you can have one of your own.

Open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., CRD is located just a few blocks past Five Points on Divine Street.

With its core value written on its website as “From the moment you walk in the door and that yummy smell of cinnamon hits your nose, to the moment you leave us, our goal is to make you feel at home,” The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli fits a vibe that fills the city feeling of Columbia without skimping on the homey aspect.

The deli sells everything from sandwiches to grits to locally owned coffee to cinnamon rolls bigger than your face. Cinnamon rolls can even come in different flavors such as Original Cinnamon, Strawberry Cheesecake, Bourbon Caramel and even Black Pepper Bacon Maple Glaze. Every entree comes with a mini cinnamon roll, and to get more students to stop by, they are in the process of adding the option to use Carolina Cash.

They are in the process of revamping the menu and adding an array of unique items along with a catering option.
