Illustrator Mike Lowery encourages daily drawing habits at Columbia Museum of Art

Illustrator and author Mike Lowery, in collaboration with the University of South Carolina School of Visual Art and Design, will be visiting the Columbia Museum of Art to give a lecture. The talk will be focused on Lowery's career and the importance of daily creative habits. Before the talk, Lowery will be conducting a workshop with upper-level art students.

Carolina Food Co. hosts second annual South Carolina-themed culinary exploration

Carolina Food Co. will be hosting its second annual Welcome to South Carolina: A Culinary Exploration event on March 4. The event will feature South Carolina staples, including pulled pork, shrimp and grits, and peach ice cream. The event's organizers hope students will learn more about the state's food culture and develop a greater appreciation for the connections that food fosters.

Cousins Maine Lobster launches first food truck in South Carolina

Cousins Maine Lobster will be launching its first food truck in South Carolina on Friday, Feb. 27, starting at Finlay Park and continuing Saturday, Feb. 28, at Segra Park for the Battle of BullStreet. The company's menu features a variety of lobster rolls and other specialty products, such as lobster bisque and clam chowder.

Gather COLA food hall offers a variety of dining options, retailers, free events

Columbia's new open air food hall, Gather COLA, is home to 10 different food vendors, three retailers and one brewery and taproom. The venue also hosts live music, trivia, music bingo and other events. Since it's opening last month, the plaza has been welcomed guests from all over and has been making improvements steadily with the help of guest feedback.
