FILE—Chairman Thad Westbrook talks to the board of trustees during a meeting on Aug. 19, 2022. The board voted to extend Pete Lembo's contract through 2025 and approved Dowell Loggains contract as offensive coordinator during their meeting on Dec. 13, 2022.

The board of trustees approved contracts for newly-hired offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains and associate head coach and special teams coordinator Pete Lembo during their meeting on Tuesday.

The approval of Loggains’ contract served as the formal announcement of his hire while Lembo received a pay raise and an extension to his previous deal.

Loggains will earn a base salary of $1 million annually over the course of the three-year deal and will have opportunities to earn as much as $115,000 if certain performance-based incentives are met, such as winning the SEC Championship or the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Under Lembo’s new deal, he will remain on the South Carolina football staff until 2025 and will earn $725,000 per year. His previous contract paid him $478,950 annually and lasted through 2024.

The South Carolina football team will conclude its 2022 season against Notre Dame in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, which will kick off in Jacksonville, Florida, at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.
