South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the Jan. 20 death of a USC student at 650 Lincoln.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office identified the student as 18-year-old Eliana M. Peterson on Wednesday, according to The Post and Courier. A cause of death has not been published.
University spokesperson Jeff Stensland confirmed that a student died at the university apartment complex 650 Lincoln, according to The State. The University of South Carolina Police Department asked SLED to investigate the student's death, WIS-10 reported.
According to a Gamecocks Online X post, the investigation has shut down the block of Lincoln Street between Blossom and Devine streets until further notice.
