Hannah House, Christ Central Ministries and End Child Hunger SC hosted an event called “Feed An Empty Heart 2017” on Thursday night. A walk-through photo gallery showcased pictures of peoples’ homes destroyed from the flood and the issues many have of how to provide nutritious foods to their family. Other photos included celebrations of successful healthy cooking and birthday parties for their children. The purpose of the event was to bring awareness to issues in the Midlands, such as hunger and poverty, and provide solutions for the problems.

Wednesday evening in Russell House theatre USC’s Fashion Board hosted a discussion with Amy Bardi, the founder of Clothed in Hope. As a 2012 Fashion Merchandising graduate of USC, Bardi shared her story of starting a business and gave students tips for a career in fashion.

Tuesday night the University of South Carolina's Wedding Planning and Management class revealed the couple selected to have their entire wedding planned by students. After narrowing down five the applications, the class decided on John and Nicole Dozier, particularly because of their interesting backstory.

Black Friday — a "holiday" for some and a hatred for others. Tuesday mornings on Greene Street are filled with vendors
of all kinds for the Healthy Carolina Farmers Market, including some furry
friends from Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services, or PAALS. The Pet-a-Pup program enables students to enjoy puppies between classes, along with becoming more educated about service dogs.

USC fourth-year marketing and management student Ragen Steele has always
had a love for jewelry and the artistic ability to accessorize any outfit. She became
tired of spending too much money on jewelry that wasn’t exactly what she wanted. Last summer, Steele solved her problem by creating pieces to wear herself.
