The Office of Student Conduct's plans to pour in money and hire new staff for the student judicial programs have come at appropriate timing. With incidents around USC's campus involving weapons in dorms and rising drug charges in only the first couple weeks of school, the OSC is planning to crack down on alcohol and drug violations on campus.
USC has dropped $300,000 on a new welcome center on King Street in Charleston that's dedicated to bringing USC to the Lowcountry. The idea is to help raise awareness for our university in a prime tourist location, get USC's name out there and offer some services to students in Charleston. The idea is essentially to advertise our school.

For an entire week, a campus full of frustrated students who were unable to get season passes have been waiting for news on how to secure a ticket to the home opener against East Carolina on Saturday. This Thursday afternoon, we finally received those instructions in an email and are now scrambling, with a day left before the game, to try to get a seat.

The money will go towards providing five to seven new degrees to Palmetto College students as well as advisers for the students and a technology staff. With these advisers, students will be able to seek help when needed, making the college a more personal experience for students, despite the fact that classes are online.
