Timely defensive stops lead South Carolina football to victory over Clemson

The No. 15 South Carolina football team used timely defensive stops and turnovers to pick up a road win over No. 12 Clemson on Saturday. The Gamecocks held Clemson below its season average in rushing yards and made several key plays on defense, including a game-sealing interception by sixth-year linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr.

The Palmetto Series is a rivalry competition sponsored by the South Carolina Education Lottery that pits South Carolina's and Clemson's sports teams against each other over the course of the 2024-2025 season. Ahead of the Gamecocks' and the Tigers' annual football game, South Carolina holds a 2-point lead over Clemson with a win in volleyball and women's basketball.
