Playlist: Fall break road trip

Every fall break, thousands of USC students hit the road, looking to return home or find a relaxing place during a stressful part of the semester. Hidden gems: 5 murals to find in Columbia

Columbia's walls are covered in murals. While they can be easy to overlook, each of them has a distinct style representative of the different parts of Columbia. These five murals are perfect for art-lovers and those looking to learn more about Columbia's rich history.


On Sept. 20, 2025, a group of people gathered on the horseshoe to compete in USC's Performative Male Contest. Twenty-two contestants put forward their best foot with their Labubus, tote bags and matcha, despite the inclement weather. The event was organized by third-year supply chain operations and management student Morgan Thomas, who was inspired by similar events on social media. After rounds of competing, first-year jazz studies major Santi Balagtas was crowned winner of the event.

'Performative male' contest comes to USC

On Friday night, a large crowd came to the Horseshoe to witness USC's very own performative male contest. Whether they brought matcha, a Labubu or a vinyl record in their tote bags, contestants came prepared.
