Recap: What you missed for softball over spring break

South Carolina's softball team went 4-4 over spring break, starting conference play 0-3 after falling to Texas in a series sweep for the Longhorns. While the Gamecocks started out on a four-game losing streak, they redeemed themselves. They finished the week on a four-game win streak, and hope to continue their streak against Georgia Southern on March 18.


Sophomore infielder Shae Anderson is being called out onto the field and celebrated by her fellow Gamecocks. The Gamecocks will host their first SEC series of the season against the Texas Longhorns Friday.

South Carolina softball posts strong start ahead of SEC play

South Carolina softball opened the 2026 season with a 15–6 record across four non-conference tournaments: the Gamecock Invitational, Carolina Classic, Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic and Garnet & Black Invitational. The Gamecocks recorded multiple run-rule victories and double-digit scoring performances while receiving balanced production from the lineup and pitching staff.


Expectations are high for South Carolina’s baseball, softball teams in 2026

The South Carolina baseball and softball teams are entering their respective seasons with high expectations. After coming off one of the worst seasons in program history, the baseball team will strive to turn things around, while the softball team looks to maintain success after its trip to the NCAA Super Regional in 2025. With both coaches entering their second seasons at the helm, this year will showcase what the future may hold for these programs.
