Gamecocks fall at Coastal Carolina

Team has now lost two matches in a row

South Carolina dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 17 Coastal Carolina Tuesday night in Conway, South Carolina.

The Gamecocks (3-2) fell in a two-goal hole before halftime, allowing a goal in the second minute and one right before the break in the 40th minute. The Chanticleers netted a final blow in the 89th minute, pushing the score to 3-0.

Coastal Carolina outshot South Carolina 10 to four in the first half, and 15 to 10 overall.

After jumping out to a 3-0 start this season, South Carolina has dropped its two most recent matches, the first coming against UNC-Wilmington.

The team will visit East Tennessee State Saturday before embarking on a four-game home stand where they will open up conference play.
