USC student ambassadors for Save the Children Action Network will be leading a "Week of Action" that aims to raise awareness about dangerous conditions for mothers and children around the world, primarily through a screening of the PBS documentary "Half the Sky."

In the early hours of Saturday morning, when most of Columbia was dark and quiet, a group of students colored, danced and made duct tape fashion designs as part of USC's third annual St. Jude Up 'til Dawn event. The participants raised a total of $18,166 for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Arnold School of Public Health professor Julius Fridriksson was awarded an $11.1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue his research on strokes, according to a university release. The money from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders will go towards the creation of the Center for the Study of Aphasia Recovery at Carolina.

USC's Sigma Chi fraternity has been temporarily suspended by the national chapter after accusations of hazing, WLTX reports. University spokesperson Wes Hickman said that USC supports the suspension pending the investigation into the circumstances of the accusations. Hickman did not give any details about the nature of the claims.

The Pat Conroy Retrospective Collection, currently on display in the Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library, contains many of the works by its late namesake, a popular author known for his connection to the Lowcountry. The exhibit will remain open until March 31, and portions will be moved to the front of Thomas Cooper Library in mid-April.
