Cole Rotondo has been elected as the next student body president, as announced by elections commissioner Tristan Bonomo.

Rotondo won against candidate Emma Strickland in a runoff election following initial elections on Feb. 24 and 25.

According to Rotondo, the whole campaign process for him and his team has been centered on hearing students, which is something he wants to continue.

“(The election) was kind of the 'easy part,'” Rotondo said. “The hard part is making sure we're working day in and day out to serve students' needs, to meet them where they are and to make this university the best it could possibly be.”

Rotondo campaigned alongside running mate Myron Harris, who was elected as vice president. He also joins Ashley Reynolds as treasurer and Kiki D’Apolito as speaker of the student senate.

The new executive members will officially be sworn in during the inauguration on March 19 at 5:30 p.m. in Rutledge Chapel.
