Homecoming Week is upon us, and this year it is bigger than ever. The theme of Homecoming, “Falling for Carolina,” was created to inspire students and alumni to reignite their enthusiasm and love for their alma mater. Various student organizations usually host a multitude of events that keep students busy under normal circumstances, but Homecoming Week is particularly fun-filled. From activities such as banner painting and a field day that took place on Oct. 28 to a Homecoming RAVE on Greene Street Nov. 3, everyone is included and encouraged to show their school spirit.

Five Points is one of the most popular social spots in Columbia, drawing students in for food, drinks and occasionally live music events. One of these events is Five After Five, a free monthly concert series from April to October hosted by the Five Points Association. On the fourth Thursday of each month, locals gather around the fountain in Five Points to enjoy live music, food vendors and local brews. The event typically lasts from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Stop Light Observations, a band of South Carolina musicians, has gained traction since their first gig in 2012. Based out of Charleston, their talents have expanded from performances at Music Farm and local gigs to music festivals such as Bonnaroo. Stop Light Observations will make their way to Columbia this Thursday, April 21. Doors at Music Farm will open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m.
