This letter is in response to the editorial "More action needed on Scott case," published on April 14.
On April 30 at 7:30 p.m., New Brookland Tavern will host local bands The Harsh Truth, Barnwell and Dempsey. Many of the members attended USC and are excited to play for a local crowd.
Fit For Rivals, an alternative rock band based out of Jacksonville, Florida, will hit the New Brookland Tavern tonight at 5 p.m. Lead singer Renee Phoenix, guitarists Thomas Amason and Rufino Lomboy, bassist Eli Clark and drummer Trey Catman are psyched to be a part of Columbia’s music scene.
You may have noticed an uptick in the number of green shirts on campus Monday. Then again, you may not have noticed.

One of the most recognizable landmarks in Columbia is a 50-by-75-foot mural on the wall of what used to be the AgFirst Farm Credit Bank at Marion and Taylor streets. The mural was painted by local artist Blue Sky and is titled “Tunnelvision.” The mural depicts a tunnel leading to a beautiful sunset view and is so realistic it looks as though a car could drive right through it.

Students gathered Wednesday night to discuss on-campus discrimination at the Unite USC event after the widely-circulated photo of a USC student using a racial slur. And afterwards, we took the opportunity to reflect on the events of the past few days. We applaud the conversation that took place in the ballroom last night and hope that conversation is taking place all across campus.

Located next to Which Wich on Main Street, Green Olive opened to the public on Thursday, March 19.
