The No. 21 South Carolina Gamecocks took down the No. 23 Missouri Tigers in its second-to-last home game of the season on Nov. 16, 2024, at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks managed to steal its first win in six years against the Tigers in the final minute of the game.

South Carolina lands No. 21 spot in College Football Playoff rankings

South Carolina entered the College Football Playoff Committee's top 25 for the first time this season ahead of its matchup against No. 23 Missouri. South Carolina football secondary shines with early season dominance

The South Carolina Gamecocks’ secondary has emerged this season as a force, wrecking havoc on opposing offenses, and forcing turnovers, while maintaining tight pass coverage. They defensive unit has allowed 196.4 passing yards per game, which ranks fifth in the SEC and 36th in the nation. The Gamecocks have also caught 10 interceptions, which is tied for first in the SEC and tied fourth out of all FBS division 1 schools.
