Season in review: Gamecocks defied odds in run to third consecutive championship

South Carolina women's basketball fell short in the national championship game once again, but the Gamecocks' season was far from a disappointment. After losing four of its five starters from the previous season, South Carolina posted a 36-4 overall record and earned its fifth consecutive SEC regular-season title en route to its third consecutive championship game appearance.

Three Gamecocks league-bound, selected in WNBA draft

Raven Johnson will reunite with a former teammate and a former foe; Madina Okot will stay close to Columbia to join the league's best rebounder and Ta'Niya Latson will head west to join a fellow Gamecock second-round pick from 2025. Three South Carolina women's basketball players were selected in Monday's 2026 WNBA draft.

Madina Okot denied additional year of eligibility

South Carolina's starting senior center Madina Okot won't return for the 2026-27 season after being denied an additional year of eligibility. The Gamecocks will be without Okot's 10.6 rebounds per game in next season's campaign.
