City-chic ambience, live music nights, great service and drink specials galore – these accolades, though great qualities in a restaurant, aren’t what got Tsunami voted onto the “Best of Carolina” list. It’s their sushi, of course.
Tsunami’s menu includes an extensive selection of sushi, complete with 10 specialty rolls unique to this South Carolina eatery. There’s something in the pages for everyone, from the sushi novice to the sashimi-daring. Start off the night by ordering a sampling of the many appetizers. The crispy crab wontons and the tuna tartar come highly recommended.
Or maybe you’d prefer a fresh salad with Tsunami’s delicious ginger dressing or a warm miso soup?
If you get past the appetizers, you’ll find two pages in the menu devoted to rolls, all made on the spot with the freshest ingredients. If you’re in the mood for an early-bird dinner, Tsunami offers a steal of a deal during Happy Hour – three rolls for $8.95.
Feeling adventurous?
Try a sushi or sashimi meal with the chef’s choice of fish. Whether you prefer your rolls on the raw side or crunchy with fried tempura, you’ll find it here.
“One of my favorite sushi rolls is the Ultimate. It has tempura shrimp, tempura flakes and cream cheese with eel and avocado on top,” Amy McCoy, a second-year student in the Master of Higher Education program, said. “I usually don’t have room for dessert, but if you do, I suggest trying the chocolate mousse cake; it’s delicious.”
Tsunami is Columbia’s go-to sushi destination. And with two locations in the Capital City plus College Night specials on Sundays, it’s convenient and easy on your wallet to quiet your craving.
