Friday, Jan. 22 

Jazz on Main 

Hosted in the Columbia Museum of Art, “Jazz on Main” is a sophisticated evening of jazz performances directed by Noel Freidline, a talented pianist, composer, vocalist and band leader. Happy hour and galleries open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are 5 dollars for students.

Columbia Baroque’s “The Seine” 

Columbia Baroque focuses on period music of the 17th and 18th centuries, specializing in Baroque vocals and chamber music. Their concert, “The Seine,” will be performed in the USC School of Music Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free for all students with identification.

Free Days at the CMA 

Next week, the Columbia Museum of Art’s admission is free on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Whether you are an art enthusiast or you just want a day of culture on the town, be sure to take advantage of this limited-time event. Free admission is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 23

Red Shoe Run 

Whether you have athletic tendencies or a charitable attitude, get some fresh air on Saturday morning and run with Ronald McDonald House Charities. Registration for the 10th annual run takes place at Hand Middle School at 6:30 a.m., with the 10K starting at 8 a.m. and the 5K starting at 8:15 a.m.

Soda City Market 

The Soda City Market takes up the 1500 block of Main Street every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Explore what all of the best local farmers and artisans have to offer, and try a soda or two.

Sunday, Jan. 24

Nice Work If You Can Get It 

The Town Theatre is putting on its own production of the comedic musical “Nice Work If You Can Get It."The play first ran in Columbia on Jan. 15, and will continue until Jan. 31. Sunday’s matinee performance begins at 3 p.m.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Circus XTREME 

Circus XTREME is much like it sounds — it amplifies your typical circus experience with exciting stunts and performances. The event takes place at the Colonial Life Arena, with two shows at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
