Donald Trump will probably carry the Palmetto State, at least based on recent polling models.

Despite some earlier polling indicating a closer than average general election race in South Carolina, the seven most recent polls shows the Republican nominee up over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Trump has an 88 percent chance of keeping the Palmetto State red, per FiveThirtyEight's most recent election forecast. He's expected to carry about 51 percent of the vote. Additionally, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is expected to earn just over 3 percent of the vote in South Carolina. Clinton is projected to garner about 44 percent of the vote.

Nationally, the race still looks to go the other way. Although projections have tightened in recent weeks, Clinton is still expected to win both the electoral college and the popular vote. She has a 69 percent chance to win the election, according to FiveThirtyEight.

South Carolina Junior Senator Tim Scott, the lone African American Republican in the U.S. Senate, is also on the ballot Nov. 8. Scott has a 99.2 percent chance of being re-elected, according to FiveThirtyEight's most recent projections. He's expected to defeat Democratic challenger Thomas Dixon with about 59 percent of the vote to Dixon's 38 percent.

Scott will visit USC's campus just days out before the election, addressing students in the Leadership and Service Center on Thursday afternoon.
