Although the infamous Fyre Festival and media fiasco which ensued is old news, the story was recently resurrected to be relived digitally in not one, but two widely viewed documentaries streaming on Netflix and Hulu, respectively. The documentaries’ releases prompted a second wave of responses from social media. Memes and jokes circulated Instagram and Twitter, not nearly as many as the festival first elicited, but enough to remind one of the response and horror first surrounding Fyre.

Oh, Valentine’s Day, the day where everyone that has a significant other celebrates, and those that don’t spend the night watching Netflix and eating Ben and Jerry’s. We say that Valentine’s Day is a day for love, but we seem to ignore one of the most important types of love we have: friendship.

Hurricane Florence has given USC students the unexpected free time they’ve all been wishing for since classes began. There are plenty of ways to be productive during these days off. In President Harris Pastides’ email, he recommends students get ahead (or catch up) on classwork or spend some time at the gym. But with all due respect to the president, another great way to spend rainy days is curled up in a cozy blanket with a fresh bowl of popcorn in front of the TV. Don’t feel guilty, you deserve it.

The Netflix revival of "Queer Eye" had potential viewers feeling a little hesitant. The original show aired from 2003-2007 with the title of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" where five gay men made over the lives of boring, straight men. This made many fear that the Netflix 2018 version would be full of flamboyant gay stereotypes and stereotypes of straight men as well.

This summer I've taken it upon myself to re-watch "Glee" on Netflix. Net neutrality at its core revolves around internet providers ensuring that all content, websites and applications are accessible without hindrance. This means that a provider cannot slow your connection if you load a webpage that they disagree with, nor can it be paid by a company to block its competitors. Net neutrality also makes sure that new websites and services can start up their business and make them available to anyone with internet access, like any other service, and not have issues. This is important for the promotion of innovation and small business. Net neutrality is vital to ensure that all information is accessible, and yet there is a push to get rid of it. This push must be stopped, and net neutrality needs to stay.
