The S.C. Department of Revenue has denied renewing the liquor licenses of eleven out of the fifteen bars in the Five Points District. These small businesses, known to be hotspots for U of SC students, could potentially be at risk of shutting down if their licenses to sell liquor cannot be renewed in the near future.
