South Carolina House awaits abortion ban bill

The South Carolina Senate voted 30-13 to pass a bill outlawing abortions performed after the detection of a "fetal heartbeat" Jan. 28. A "fetal heartbeat" can be detected as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, which is before most women even know they are pregnant. Abortion rights advocates worry about the repercussions of the bill. 


USC improves recycling efforts on campus

Recycling has become a central focus at USC as the university pushes to become more sustainable, and the Residence Hall Association is working to introduce more recycling options to off-campus housing. 


Student senate proposes streamlined advising process

The student senate believes better utilizing EAB Navigate for advising services will create a better advising process. Student Body President Issy Rushton is continuing to work towards an in-person commencement ceremony, though her term will end in the middle of the semester.

USC maintains COVID-19 supplies, safety initiatives

USC has been working to improve campus safety since March. They have implemented a number of COVID-19 safety initiatives across campus, which has led to an increased demand for cleaning supplies and other COVID-19 personal protective equipment.
