Annual event to include tree lighting, performances
Columbia drivers may have to take a few detours tonight as the annual Vista Lights takes over the Vista from 5 to 9 p.m, with street closings from 6 to 10 p.m, according to the Columbia Police Department.
The 800 through 1000 blocks of Gervais Street, 1100 and 1200 blocks of Lincoln Street and Park Street between Lady and Senate Streets will all be closed for four hours as visitors admire the holiday light displays and watch live performances throughout the Vista. There will also be a tree lighting at 7 p.m. and visitors will also be able to get ahead on holiday shopping, with many retailers and galleries open to the public.
Anyone wishing to attend Vista Lights will be able to park in nearby parking garages.
