Halloween events in Columbia 2018

Looking for Halloween plans? Here are some events happening throughout Columbia:

Halloween in Five Points

When: Oct. 31, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Stores and restaurants will be offering sales, specials and promotions all day long and neighborhood-wide trick-or-treating. 

Frankenstein: 1818-2018 Costume Contest

When: Oct. 29-31

The University Libraries Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections is holding a costume contest in honor of the 200th anniversary of the publication of "Frankenstein." To enter, take a photo of yourself in costume in the Frankenstein: 1818-2018 exhibit at the Hollings Library Gallery between Oct. 29 and 31 and post it to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #uofscfrankenstein. After entering, five students will receive $100 cash prizes for five categories. 

Monster Monday: Pumpkin Carving

When: Oct. 29, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Carolina Productions will hold a pumpkin carving event on Greene Street. Students can carve their own pumpkin, free when they present their CarolinaCard. 

Frankenstein Film Festival

When: Oct. 30, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Interested in monster movies? University Libraries Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections is presenting several "Frankenstein" films in the Hollings Library Program Room. 

Hall of Horrors

When: Through Nov. 3

Held in Cayce, Hall of Horrors is a haunted house featuring an escape room and outdoor interactive experiences. Tickets are $10 for the Human Stockyards, an outdoor interactive experience, and $25 for the The G.H.O.S.T., an escape room experience. Walk-up bookings for each of these open at 7 p.m. and close a 11:15 p.m.
