When Oogy was 10 weeks old, he should have spent his days as any puppy should: running around, exploring this big new world with the knowledge that at the end of the day he would return to loving arms. A dogo-breed puppy, Oogy was only 10 weeks old when owners of a dog-fighting ring used him as bait for a pit bull. Without the efforts of animal emergency staff, Oogy would have died that day.

The angel shot has been sweeping the feminist internet. If you haven’t heard of it, the Angel Shot is a drink recipe that began in St. Petersburg, Florida. But you won’t find it posted behind the bar or in a drink menu; you’ll find this recipe posted in the women’s restroom. If a woman is uncomfortable on a date, the first thing she’ll usually do is excuse herself to the bathroom, to panic-text her best friend or check to see if there are Ubers around. If you’re lucky, you’ll be in a bathroom in an establishment that sells angel shots. If you go to the bar and order and angel shot neat, then the bartender or other staff member will escort you to your car. If you order an angel shot over ice, the bartender will call you an Uber, Lyft or taxi. If you order an angel shot with lime, the bartender will call the police.

Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman responded to the critics Tuesday night when he belted two home runs, raising his batting average to a whopping .235 and his season home run total to three. His pedestrian .288 on-base percentage is over 100 points below second baseman Daniel Murphy's batting average, and while that is in part due to a hot start from Washington's new acquisition, Zimmerman isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

This will be my last article for The Daily Gamecock, a publication for which I've written more than three years and one hundred articles. I've been through half a dozen section editors during my time here, and it's been a pleasure working with each of them. They've each had their own writing styles and quirks, with different requests in terms of formatting and timing of submissions. One thing they've all shared, though, is a liberal perspective.

Coach Will Muschamp has been able to cut his list of five first-team quarterbacks to three in the first two weeks of spring practice, though it hasn't happened the way he envisioned. After seeing sophomore Lorenzo Nunez go down with a knee injury, senior Perry Orth broke his collarbone in Saturday's scrimmage, knocking out the team's two leading passers from last season. While Nunez could return before the team wraps up for the spring — contrary to initial reports — Orth will not be back in pads until at least the summer, as he underwent surgery on Saturday.
