Pedestrian killed in Lexington crash

A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in Lexington County, WIS reports. The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when the SUV hit the person in the middle of Blackville Road. The SUV driver was not injured, and the investigation is ongoing.

Gamecock football launching five-part miniseries

Gamecock football's journey from the hiring of Will Muschamp to the 2016 opener will be the subject of a five-part miniseries, The Times and Democrat reports. The first episode will be released Aug. 10. The episodes will debut on Facebook and then be uploaded to Gamecocksonline.com. Titled "Forever to Thee," the series will feature interviews with the coaching staff, members of the athletics department and SEC analysts. 

Company looking to build columbarium near Williams-Brice

Cremated remains may soon be stored next to Williams-Brice Stadium, Free Times reports. A local company has filed a request with the zoning board to construct a columbarium on property near the home of Gamecock football. The facility is similar to a mausoleum and houses funeral urns. The plot of land is on the old state farmers market property and borders the Gamecock Park tailgating lot.
