When I think of the typical college basketball game, I think of passionate students along the court cheering as loud as they can to create some of the most electric atmospheres in all of sports. That’s what I love the most about college basketball: the large number of students cheering literally feet away from the action as they pile up in the courtside section. This type of atmosphere may have just gotten a little harder to create in the Colonial Life Arena for women’s basketball games.

I’m sick and tired of people trying to tell the student section as a whole to treat opponents with respect. If you’re one of those wild, die-hard fans, you do not have to keep reading. I am talking to those who think football is a time for people to hold hands and root for both teams.

The statements made by university officials were contradictory. It was said that students with upper-level tickets were "somehow" getting wristbands and they "don't know how." Well, I know how, and so does every other student who enters the stadium prior to 30 minutes to kickoff. The event staff scanning our tickets and getting paid to hand out wristbands to students with only with lower-level tickets are not doing their job.

We did it. For the first time in 40 years, the Carolina Gamecocks beat the Clemson Tigers two years in a row. This is obviously a very big deal, and since it is not too far past Thanksgiving, it is only appropriate for all Carolina fans to be grateful and give thanks for the incredible season our football team has had this year.
