Innovation hub to advance work in energy distribution with federal recognition

South Carolina's Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy was recognized as an innovation hub in October, giving it an opportunity to recieve more funding from the federal government. The entity works in creating more effecient ways to store and distribute energy. The hope is that through phase two of its application process, it will be able to recieve money that can help SC Nexus explore new projects.

University of South Carolina revives 'USC' acronym, changes branding after 4 years

In January, USC changed its logo from "UofSC" back to "USC," causing conversations throughout campus about the new look. The change was the second in four years for the university, which may mean that more change could be on the horizon in the future.

Pathways to Healing holds 14th annual walk in support of those affected by sexual assault

Pathways to Healing held its 14th annual mile walk at the Statehouse on Saturday in support of sexual assault and abuse survivors Over 600 people attended, including USC students, Miss South Carolina and members of the Midlands community.

Alpha Kappa Psi, in collaboration with the Black Business Association and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Darla Moore School of Business, hosted the "Being Black in the Workspace" event in the Russell House Ballroom on Feb. 20, 2023. Panelists from the organizations spoke on the challenges and biases that minorities face in the workplace, and the importance of incorporating diversity.

The "Being Black in the Workspace" event was held in the Russell House Ballroom on Monday night. Panelists discussed the challenges of being a minority throughout their careers and the importance of diversity.

Good Morning America visited the University of South Carolina’s Russell House patio on Feb. 21, 2023, for a live broadcast of the “Be the Match” event. The experience promoted the National Marrow Donor Program, offering student recipients an opportunity to swab themselves to see if their DNA is a compatible blood type with someone in need.
