This sparked a 4-0 win over the Tennessee Volunteers. The night was particularly special for Bollinger and Gray, as neither had scored a collegiate goal coming into the game.

The win moved the Gamecocks to the top of the Conference USA table, putting them higher than Kentucky and UNC Charlotte, both of whom defeated South Carolina during the team’s recent three-game skid.

The Gators pulled out on top of the Gamecocks with a 2-1 victory on Thursday. The Gamecocks managed to tie up a game on Sunday with the Tigers on Sunday 1-1.

The No. 22 South Carolina men’s soccer team fell to an unranked Charlotte team on Friday in a heated matchup at Transamerica field in Charlotte, North Carolina. This game was physical, especially for Charlotte, who committed a total of 15 fouls, while the Gamecocks committed nine of their own. It was a truly fierce matchup, even if the 2-0 Charlotte win made the game seem one-sided.

The lights at Eugene E. Stone III Stadium have never been brighter for the Lady Gamecocks. In the past three seasons, the women’s soccer team has gone from 7-10-4 in 2012 to 17-4-2 in 2013 and finished last year with a 14-6-5 record, a trip to the NCAA tournament quarterfinals (the first in school history) and matched the program’s highest ever final ranking as the ninth-best team in the nation.

First, it was the conference opener versus University of Alabama-Birmingham. Then, it was eighth-ranked Elon. Four days later, it was No. 7 New Mexico. The Gamecock men's soccer team played arguably the toughest part of their schedule and not only survived, but emerged unbeaten. The team returns to action Friday when they travel to West Virginia in a conference matchup against a 4-5-0 Marshall team.
