USC releases student survey about COVID-19, fall semester

President Bob Caslen sent students a survey on April 14 that asked about students’ willingness to return to campus in the fall, use of virtual resources and COVID-19 concerns.

“The purpose of the survey is to help us plan for the fall semester and gain additional insight into the concerns of students,” university spokesperson Jeff Stensland said in an email interview.

The survey answers will help inform the work of the Future Planning Group, a group of university administrators who will make recommendations about how and when students should return to campus, according to Stensland.

“The charge of the group is to examine the potential impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on UofSC past the 2020 summer session and making policy recommendations concerning the safe return of our students and employees to campus and mitigating any ongoing risks,” Stensland said.

“As we look to plan for the future and in an effort to minimize disruptions to the academic experience, we want the needs of our students to be in the forefront of our minds,” Caslen said in an email to students.
