The University of South Carolina women's basketball team will advance to the Sweet 16 for the 11th straight time with a 64-53 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers. The Gamecocks and Hoosiers met for the second straight season in the NCAA tournament after a win in the Sweet 16 last season by the Gamecocks. With the win, the Gamecocks have now improved to 18-1 in the past four NCAA tournaments. There were many notable things to take away from the game, some of which included junior forward Chloe Kitts achieving her 10th double-double of the season and senior guard Te-Hina Paopao getting a season-high four blocks. The Gamecocks are set to take on the winner of No. 4 Maryland vs No. 5 Alabama next week in the Sweet 16.

The series featured three distinct settings—one game at Clemson, one at a neutral site in Greenville and one at South Carolina. Although they lost, the Gamecocks had one achievement from the weekend. Junior infielder Ethan Petry is now tied for third on the Gamecock career home run list with 47. He is one away from tying the second place spot of 48 home runs. Carolina now prepares to host Davidson on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park.

Prisma is a member of the Children’s Miracle Network and is the largest freestanding children’s hospital in the state, serving over 150,000 children throughout South Carolina. As the largest student-run philanthropic organization on campus, USC Dance Marathon has raised over $9,000,000 in the 27 years it has been in operation. The Gamecocks had a successful weekend, defeating Virginia 7-6 and 5-4, Providence 8-0, Saint Francis 7-0 and East Carolina 1-0. The Gamecocks showed impressive teamwork after having a multitude of new members join the team this past off-season. The Gamecocks will continue its season on Feb. 13, 2025, when it faces off against Georgia State.

Cockstock took place at Colonial Life Arena on Jan. 29, 2025. Put together by Gamecock Entertainment and Carolina Productions, Cockstock was a night of music, energy and school spirit, headlined by rapper Quavo with Mariah the Scientist as the special guest. Put together by Gamecock Entertainment and Carolina Productions, Cockstock was a night of music, energy and school spirit, headlined by rapper Quavo with Mariah the Scientist as the special guest. The event brought together students and fans as they were connected to the high-energy performances. Both Quavo’s and Mariah's sets were filled with hits that had the crowd on their feet. The event, though postponed from Homecoming Week 2024, was enjoyed by many students.

The event was originally formed to protest the waving of the Confederate flag at the Statehouse but continued even after the flag was removed in 2015.
