6 Broadway hits coming to Columbia

Koger Center for the Arts has six Broadway hits coming to Columbia this upcoming season. From popular musicals such as "Wicked" to lesser-known musicals such as "Mrs. Doubtfire," there is a wide variety for audiences to see.

"...and this stays between us, right?" is an interactive art exhibition opening in McMaster Gallery by artists Taylor Colimore and Noren Gelberg-Hagmaier, under their name cyber//chiffon. The exhibition will explore the themes of identity and self-expression.


A photographic featuring Scarlett Johansson in Jurassic World: Rebirth, David Corenswet in Superman, and Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.

Blockbusters, breakouts: Reviewing summer’s biggest films

The summer 2025 movie season delivered a wide spectrum of blockbusters, from superhero reboots and animated experiments, to franchise finales and unexpected originals. Some titles, such as "Jurassic World: Rebirth," stumbled under the weight of formula and nostalgia. Others, including James Gunn’s "Superman," Zach Cregger’s "Weapons" and the animated "K-Pop Demon Hunters," showcased the creative spark that defined the strongest offerings. Together, these films reflected both the limits of Hollywood’s reliance on familiar properties and the audience’s growing appetite for bold new directions.

USC opens new Russell House dining facility

On Aug.14, the university officially unveiled Garnet Station, a brand-new dining facility added to Russell House as part of larger renovations. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring various speakers.


On April 3 at Feathered Nest, this booth shows all kinds of home decorations, including pots, flowers and Easter decorations for customers.

New Cayce thrift, antique shop not your 'typical bright box retail' shop

On March 8, thrift and antique shop Feathered Nest opened in Cayce, providing a wide array of items for its customers. Vendors and the owner of the shop emphasized the uniqueness of the shop, as well as the treasure hunt that goes into finding the best items for each vendor to represent the shop and ultimately create the most potential sales.
