Former Gamecocks running back Kenny Miles shot himself in the forearm in an Irmo office park last week, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Tuesday. Miles will be charged with filing a false police report and could face jail time or a large fine.


Quarles to leave for NFL

Junior defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles had decided to forgo his senior season at South Carolina, and will enter the NFL Draft after this season, The State reported Wednesday.

Gamecocks win in ugly fashion

South Carolina’s 34-16 victory over Mississippi State Saturday was about as exciting as watching an episode of “The Young and the Restless.” OK, OK, it wasn’t that bad. I have to say I’d rather watch football, baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, rugby, CSPAN, grass grow or a wall than sit down and watch a soap opera.
