COVID-19 dashboard update: Active cases increase to 87

Total active coronavirus cases on campus increased by 40 from last Tuesday, according to the updated online USC COVID-19 dashboard.

Of the 87 current cases, 84 are students and three are employees. 

Since the last reporting period, 1,197 people were tested with a percent positive rate of 1.73%. The student positive test rate is 2.3%, while the employee rate is 0%. There are 560 tests pending results.

The university's quarantine and isolation dorms are at 5.66% capacity. Quarantine/isolation housing is located in Bates West, the National Advocacy Center, SpringHill Suites and the Holiday Inn Express on Washington Street.

Testing schedules and locations, which include Davis Field and behind the Student Health Center, can be found on the university's COVID-19 website.

Those experiencing symptoms should make a telemedicine appointment through MyHealthSpace.

As of this update, a total of 2,690 university employees and students have recovered from the coronavirus since Aug. 1.

The alert level remains at 0.36, the “New Normal” level. The alert level is calculated using 11 factors, including testing, on-campus case burden and quarantine and isolation capacity.

The COVID-19 dashboard will be updated every Tuesday and Friday.
