Brief: Study abroad opportunities expand student horizons

The 2016 Study Abroad Fair will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. in the Russell House Ballroom.

Last year, over 1,500 students participated in studies overseas in 68 different countries. They were awarded a total of over $800,000 in scholarships. Representatives for programs from over 40 countries will be available to answer students' questions at the fair.

Spending time in a different country, whether for a few weeks or a few months, exposes students to different experiences, cultures and opportunities. There are some eligibility requirements, which can be found on the University of South Carolina Study Abroad website.
