WLTX reports that a suspect was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting of a USC student that occurred Monday night. The arrest was announced by Richland County officers on Tuesday, and the suspect has been charged with murder.

The shooting took place along the 400 block of Seton Hall Road around 9:30 p.m. Officers found the lone victim, 18-year-old Jaelen Josey, still inside a crashed car with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The suspect, who was taken to the Richland County Detention Center, is thought to have known the victim, having shot him during an attempted armed robbery.
