Car crashes into Horseshoe

A car appeared to have crashed through the brick wall and gate on the Sumter Street side of USC's historic horseshoe late Friday night. Bricks and parts of the car were found spread across the lawn, seen in photos posted on Twitter. Columbia Police are investigating the incident, according to campus officers.

Shooting leaves 1 hospitalized

Columbia officials confirmed the shooting of one person on Dorrah Street on Friday night. The victim has been hospitalized, and WACH Fox reports that his injury is serious. No suspects have been confirmed or arrested as investigators are gathering more information.

One dead in head-on collision

A Friday night collision on Garners Ferry Road left one person dead, WLTX reports. According to the South Carolina Highway patrol, a Hyundai was westbound on the eastbound side of the road and hit a GMC, resulting in the death of the Hyundai driver. The GMC had four occupants during the crash, and they have all been hospitalized. The Highway Patrol is further investigating the incident.
