Former Clemson stand out dies of reported heart attack

Four-year Clemson basketball starter Demontez Stitt died of an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, The Post and Courier reports. He was 27 years old. Stitt died at home in North Carolina, though he had played in Europe for years. Many of Stitt's former teammates expressed condolences on social media.

SC justices burn attorney general in high-profile case

The South Carolina State Supreme Court ruled against Attorney General Alan Wilson in a major decision, WIS reports. The court ruled that First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe does have the right to investigate allegations of corruption in the state legislature. The 4-1 decision ends a lengthy squabble between the two prosecutors, and Wilson's office says they will abide by the decision.

Chapin nurse receives national award for heroism

The Chapin nurse who made headlines last year for saving a life in the midst of a fiery car accident was acclaimed again for his actions, The State reports. Kelly Winters, whose day job is senior charge nurse at Providence Hospital, was awarded the Carnegie Medal for heroism. Winters rescued a woman from a 10-car accident in May of 2015.
