Oldest living USC grad dies

Sura Wengrow, the oldest living University of South Carolina graduate, died Monday at age 107. Wengrow studied library science and worked for decades as a librarian at Fort Jackson. She was also an active member of the South Carolina Democratic Party. USC President Harris Pastides tweeted condolences on Wednesday, calling her a "classy supporter of Carolina."

Richland County ordered to improve school resource officer program

The U.S. Justice Department will intervene in Richland County's school resource officer program, The State reports. The decision comes months after an incident involving an SRO and a student at Spring Valley High School made national headlines. The department will work to improve training and skills in order "to ensure civil rights protections" for all students in the district.

Two dead in I-77 crash

A wrong-way collision along I-77 killed two early Wednesday morning, WLTX reports. The crash occurred just past the Blythewood Road exit near the Fairfield and Richland County line when an SUV in the wrong lane struck a car. South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
